Cape Town, the Mother City, is situated on the far South Western tip of Africa, about 1600 km from Johannesburg. Founded in 1652 by Dutch Settler, Jan van Riebeeck, Cape Town offers the visitor a combination of spectacular scenery, cultural experiences and an unsurpassed tradition of hospitality.

Often referred to as "the Fairest Cape", Cape Town is washed by the waters of both the cool Atlantic Ocean to the West and the warm influence of the Indian Ocean to the East. The result is a Mediterranean climate in summer which is usually pleasantly warm, with even the hottest days often cooled by pleasant sea breeze. The winters are cool and wet, but the temperature hardly ever falls below 10° C.
Tourism in Cape Town peaks between November and March when the city lazes through mid summer.

Cape Town can be found sprawled at the foot of Table Mountain, the city's most famous attraction and one of the world's most well-known landmarks. Now a national monument, Table Mountain offers breathtaking rides to the top by high-tech Cable Car or by foot via more than 350 routes.
The Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens - a legacy from Cecil John Rhodes, who wanted to preserve Devil's Peak and the eastern slopes of Table Mountain as a national Park. The 528-hectare park includes more than half of South Africa's 18 000 flowering indigenous plants.
Other attractions include many historical buildings still standing among the new skyscrapers, including the 17th century Castle of Good Hope, which is the oldest building in the South Africa, Cape Point - the place of the Meeting of Two Oceans and the world renowned Robben Island.
Cape Town boasts endless pristine white sandy beaches offering breathaking views of Table Bay and Table Mountain from every aspect. With an abundance of sea and sand it is a great place for sporting enthusiasts, with some of the best diving sites in Kalk Bay and bathing spots along the many and beautiful beaches, which lend themself to outdoor activities such as surfing, parasailing, kitesurfing, canoeing, diving, sandboarding, fishing and long leisurely walks.
The surrounding areas offer sporting facilities of every kind throughout the city and suburbs so if you're an outdoor enthusiast there will always be something to do - from golf to cycling, hang-gliding, parachuting, sailing, etc.
