Sabi Sabi lies in the Lowveld, between the majestic Drakensberg Mountains to the west and the Lebombo Mountains to the east. The Lebomobos also form the boundary between South African and Mozambique.

Mateya Safari Lodge is situated in the spectacular 75 hectare Malaria-free Madikwe Game Reserve which is characterised by extensive plains which slope in the north-easterly and easterly direction towards the Marico River.
